Environmental Studies

Environmental Studies at 91��ɫ��ý equips students with knowledge, skills, and perspectives to understand the causes and consequences of local and global environmental problems, with the goal of developing just, equitable solutions. Our curriculum emphasizes thinking across and beyond disciplines and embracing interdisciplinary inquiry in the humanities, arts, social sciences, and natural sciences.

Professor Matthew Klingle’s Diabetes Work Cited in Vanderbilt Study
Environmental historian Matthew Klingle has been immersed in the study of public health and chronic disease, particularly diabetes, for many years. His scholarship was cited recently in a major study by Vanderbilt University’s cutting-edge public health research initiative.

Students in the spring course Applied GIS and Remote Sensing worked collaboratively to provide the town of Topsham with updated maps and data for key environmental, conservation, and development areas.
